Can a 12 year old watch Joker?
First off let me start by saying, yes this is a very dark, violent, and intense movie and I would NOT recommend it for a child.
Parents need to know that Joker is an intense, complex, powerful thriller starring Joaquin Phoenix as the famous Batman villain. It's far darker and more violent than other takes on the character. Expect extremely graphic killings and blood spatters/sprays, guns and shooting, and stabbing. Several characters…
Joker is rated R by the MPAA for strong bloody violence, disturbing behavior, language and brief sexual images.
The movie It has an R rating, which would suggest that it's best for the theater to be filled with adults, not kids, for this particular film.
Joker is rated '15' and contains scenes of strong bloody violence including murder and language while It was also given a 15 rating due to strong gory violence, horror and language.
So in the end, I'd recommend this film for anyone 12 and over. It does have some violence and very mature themes but if your child knows that it's fake and not real then they'll be fine.
Crude or Profane Language
Nearly 30 f-words and about 10 s-words. We also hear “a–” (several times), “p-ss” and “pr–k,” along with a misuse of God's name.
The Batman is rated PG-13, which means that some material is not suitable for children under the age of 13. For example, movies rated PG-13 might contain violence, nudity, sensuality, and/or brief language. Here, the movie contains some sexual content, language, and violence.
It is rated R by the MPAA for violence/horror, bloody images, and for language. Violence: - Frequent non-graphic violence. - Brief, visually explicit portrayals of violence.
Jack Napier, also known as the Joker, is a fictional character introduced in the 1989 superhero film Batman, directed by Tim Burton. Primarily portrayed by Jack Nicholson, the character was based on the DC Comics supervillain the Joker.
Can a 12 year old watch 12+?
Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult.
In general, kids can start babysitting siblings for short periods around age 11 or 12. Start by leaving them for short amounts of time and gradually increase it as they prove themselves trustworthy. Don't leave them alone overnight until your oldest child is at least 16.

Broadly speaking, current British classifications are similar to US ones - G equals U, PG equals PG, PG-13 equals 12A (barring a one-year age difference) and NC-17 equals 18 (though the British version doesn't have the cultural problems discussed above).
The Joker has undergone many revisions since his 1940 debut. The most common interpretation of the character is that of a man who, while disguised as the criminal Red Hood, is pursued by Batman and falls into a vat of chemicals that bleaches his skin, colors his hair green and his lips red, and drives him insane.
R: RESTRICTED. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian.
R: Restricted, Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian. This rating means the film contains adult material such as adult activity, harsh language, intense graphic violence, drug abuse and nudity.
A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category.
Individual scenes in Justice League might be fine for younger kids (there are some very good Wonder Woman and Amazon war scenes that I would say are fine for younger children than that but as a whole the film is very murky and dark and grim in tone.)
Parents need to know that Batman Begins features hard and fast violence, martial arts and shootings conveyed through dark, abrupt, sometimes scary imagery. Less cartoonish than the Spider-Man and X-Men movies, these scenes are loud and rough.
Dunbar is famed in Scottish and ecclesiastical history for issuing the longest curse, a 1000-word diatribe against the Borders reivers who he excommunicated saying this: “I curse their head and all the hairs of their head.
What actor swears 23 times per 1,000 words?
According to the study, Hill says a curse word in “The Wolf of Wall Street” 22.9 times every 1,000 words.
Joker is an unusual DC movie for a number of reasons, not least of which being its hard R-rating. And as director Todd Phillips tells The LA Times, it took a great deal of convincing before WB signed off on his vision for the film.
I recommend this show for kids 16+ or if they are mature like 11+ but only if they are mature.
Rated 15 for strong threat, violence
The Batman (2022) is a crime thriller in which a vigilante teams up with a detective to solve a series of murders perpetrated by a riddle-loving killer.
Even though this movie is about a comic-book character, neither it nor its flawed hero and villain are aimed at younger kids or appropriate for them. The film is loaded with intense action, from bombs and bullets to martial-arts fighting and hand-to-hand combat.
Responsibility for allowing under-12s to view lies with the accompanying or supervising adult. (15) 15 No-one younger than 15 may see a '15' film in a cinema.
Films and computer games classified M (Mature) contain content of a moderate impact. M-rated films and computer games are not recommended for children under the age of 15. They include portrayals of elements such as violence and themes that require a mature outlook.
Scream is rated R by the MPAA Rated R for strong bloody violence, language throughout and some sexual references.
Harley Quinn, born Harleen Frances Quinzel, was a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum who was turned into an insane criminal and girlfriend of the Joker.
Following her introduction to the DC Universe in 1999, Harley Quinn was depicted as the sidekick and lover of the Joker as well as the criminal associate and best friend of fellow supervillain Poison Ivy.
Whose son is Joker?
In Joker, Thomas Wayne (Batman's father) and Penny Fleck (Joker's mother) are key characters. Penny claims that Thomas is actually Arthur's father.
Kids between 8 and 12 are called “tweens” because they are in between children and teenagers. It's very normal for kids this age to start to move from being very close to parents to wanting to be more independent. But they still need a lot of help from their parents. Kids this age go through big physical changes.
Research presented at the national conference of the American Academy of Pediatrics found that children should be at least 12 before they should be left alone for more than 4 hours.
Films, videos and downloads rated 18 are not suitable for children. No one younger than 18 can go and see an 18 rated film in the cinema.
The "tween years" can be challenging for both children and their parents. Young adolescents are continuing to explore their community and world and beginning to develop unique identities separate from their parents.
Although not inherently harmful, early dating can put youths at risk for drug use, promiscuity, and other delinquent behavior, experts say. They advise parents not to push the timetable, but to try to understand why a child wants to date and respond with appropriate guidance and limits.
There's no legal age a child can babysit – but if you leave your children with someone who's under 16 you're still responsible for their wellbeing. You should also think carefully about leaving your child alone with an older brother or sister.
But a 'U' film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. U films should be set within a positive moral framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.
The Big 'A' - Stands for 'Adults Only', which obviously prohibits anybody under the age of 18 to watch the film in theatres. The Big 'S' - Stands for 'Restricted to special classes', which means only a certain members of the society, such as doctors, scientists, etc, are permitted to watch the film.
The restrictions set by the Us ratings board mean the F-word can only be used once in a PG-13 movie.
Does Joker get pregnant?
No stranger to shocking storylines, the Joker became pregnant and gave birth in a new comic from DC Comics. In the latest issue of the Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing, the iconic Batman is placed in an unexpected story that sees the Clown Prince of Crime introduce a miniature Joker to the world.
In 1994, Batman: The Animated Series creators Paul Dini and Bruce Timm wrote a comic that revealed how Quinn became The Joker's girlfriend.
Lucy Quinzel is the daughter of the Joker and Harley Quinn and the niece of Delia Quinzel.
The R-rating doesn't ban children under 17 from a movie, it restricts them to watching it with a parent or guardian (and includes a recommendation that parents and guardians learn more before allowing their child to see the movie).
Children under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian over the age of 21 for R-rated movies. I.D. is required for proof of age. Children under 6 years of age are not permitted into R-rated features at all.
G — General Audiences.
All Ages Admitted. A G-rated motion picture contains nothing in theme, language, nudity, sex, violence or other matters that, in the view of the Rating Board, would offend parents whose younger children view the motion picture.
D – Sexual or suggestive dialogue (not used with the TV-MA rating) L – Coarse or crude language. S – Sexual situations. V – Violence.
Forbid all R-rated movies until your child is 13 years old.
Don't allow your child to see movies with graphic personal or sexual violence before age 17.
TV-MA Mature Audience Only This program is specifically designed to be viewed by adults and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17. This program contains one or more of the following: graphic violence (V), explicit sexual activity (S), or crude indecent language (L).
The Batman is rated PG-13 for drug content, strong disturbing content, strong language, and strong violent content which means it may contain material not suitable for kids. Parents need to know that The Batman contains a lot of language and sadistic behavior including murder, corruption, and drug use.
Why is Joker badly rated?
Critics say that this film “glorifies violence”. They claim that it will bring out the worst in society, making the oppressed react criminally. And for that reason, they rate it lowly.
It is believed that Joker 2 Folie à Deux Rating places the movie in a classification that is reasonable for youngsters.
Not appropriate for young children
They were both horrified with the violent scenes in the beginning of the movie (in the lab) and were exposed to a lot of coarse sexual inuendoes in this film. Even though it's a 90's production I still strongly recommend to wait with this one until at least the age of 13.
The MPAA rated Batman Forever PG-13 for strong stylized action.
The film's violence isn't as intense or graphic as it is shocking. The film contains a few shootings and stabbings with brief injury detail. While it's not excessively bloody or gory, it's in your face when it happens and mostly used for impact.
Joaquin Phoenix performance in “Joker” earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor (Photo courtesy of Warner Bros.) “Joker,” which hit the big screen Oct. 4, is a movie about a man who lives in a society where he feels invisible and abandoned.
“The viewing notes stated that the film was permissible at the requested 15, with the main issue some strong and occasionally bloody violence”, the BBFC noted. Had Joker dwelled heavily on the injuries suffered as a consequence of the violence in the film, that's what would have pushed it towards an 18 certificate.
The MPAA rated “Joker” R for “strong bloody violence, disturbing behavior, language and brief sexual image,” and that makes it a “hard R.” The violence is extremely graphic, and an air of anger and isolation swirls around the film.
