What is rated U?
A film with a 'U' certificate means it's suitable for children aged 4 and older. The 'U' itself stands for Universal and the text underneath the 'U' rating states that it's suitable for all, as this is the age that most children begin to remember things such as film and TV.
The U symbol stands for Universal. A U film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. However, it is impossible to predict what might upset a particular child, especially at this lower end of the category range.
The U stands for universal and is applied to movies suitable for most ages. These movies should be positive in tone and should make clear differences between right and wrong. There should be no dangerous behaviour that children can copy and, at most, there may be occasional very mild bad language.
They contain content that may offend some sections of the adult community, for example nudity or explicit sexual content.
UG stands for undergraduate and refers to a student who is pursuing their first degree (bachelor's degree). PG stands for postgraduate and refers to someone who has already completed their bachelor's degree and is now working toward completing another type of advanced degree such as master's or doctorate.
PG stands for parental guidance.
That means that anyone can watch the film, but it's different from a U rating because children under eight, or more sensitive children, might find something about the film upsetting.
Films with the U certification are fit for unrestricted public exhibition and are family-friendly. These films can contain universal themes like education, family, drama, romance, sci-fi, action etc.
What does U stand for? A film with a 'U' certificate means it's suitable for children aged 4 and older. The 'U' itself stands for Universal and the text underneath the 'U' rating states that it's suitable for all, as this is the age that most children begin to remember things such as film and TV.
The show is officially rated TV-MA, or not necessarily suitable for kids 17 and under. Again, you know your child and what they can handle best, but just like with R-rated movies, there's a lot to consider about what your child will see and think while watching a thriller like this.
R: Restricted - Under 17 requires accompanying parent or guardian. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated movies unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian 25 years of age or older.
What is B rated movie?
The term "B movie" is now used for any film that's made with limited resources. But cheap doesn't mean bad, so while some of these movies are pretty rough, others did incredible things with small budgets. One thing they all have in common, though, is that they're entertaining as hell.
PG films are suitable for general viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. A PG film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children. Legally a child of any age may view a PG film.

A B movie or B film is a low-budget commercial motion picture. In its original usage, during the Golden Age of Hollywood, the term more precisely identified films intended for distribution as the less-publicized bottom half of a double feature (akin to B-sides for recorded music).
TV Parental Guidelines may have one or more letters added to the basic rating to let parents know when a show may contain violence, sex, adult language, or suggestive dialogue. D – suggestive dialogue (usually means talks about sex) L – coarse or crude language. S – sexual situations. V – violence.
The NC-17 rating is the highest rating (even higher than the R-rating) that a film can be given, and it means the movie is for adults only (ages 18 and older) and no one age 17 or younger will be admitted. This rating, prior to 1990, was previously rated X.
Netflix additionally noted, “In some countries, we may also show season-level ratings. Those ratings may differ from the show's overall rating or mature content themes.” “Stranger Things” is one of few Netflix Original Series that is TV-14. Movie Guide reports that 61% of its series are rated as TV-MA.
General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. A PG film should not unsettle a child aged around eight or older. Unaccompanied children of any age may watch, but parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger, or more sensitive, children.
R21 (restricted 21) – Strictly for adults aged 21 and above. Films under this category are restricted to be screened in licensed venues only.
According to the Motion Picture Association, the PG-13 label means the movie is fine for kids over the age of thirteen. It may not, however, be appropriate for children under thirteen because of language, violence, nudity, and other mature content.
U-certified films mean suitable for family viewing, that is to say, the film shall be such that all the members of the family including children can view it together.
Why is US rated R?
The MPAA rating has been assigned for “violence/terror, and language.” The Kids-In-Mind.com evaluation includes a kissing scene and conversations about sex, cleavage revealing outfits and bathing suits, many scenes of people attacking and killing other people with blood and gore, many scenes of unusual and creepy ...
Restricted: R - Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their young children with them.
R: Restricted, Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian. This rating means the film contains adult material such as adult activity, harsh language, intense graphic violence, drug abuse and nudity.
Rated PG: Parental guidance suggested – Some material may not be suitable for children. Rated PG-13: Parents strongly cautioned – Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Rated R: Restricted – Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Rated NC-17: No children under 17 admitted.
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, and/or strong language.
TV-MA. This program is specifically designed to be viewed by adults and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17. Contains content that may be unsuitable for children.
The Common Sense experts say the show is fine for kids 13+, while both parents and kids agree the show is appropriate for ages 12+.
Research presented at the national conference of the American Academy of Pediatrics found that children should be at least 12 before they should be left alone for more than 4 hours.
In Wednesday you can expect violence, murder and death, some gore and intense scenes, and profanity by some of the characters. To sum it up, Wednesday is not kid friendly for young kids, but should be reserved for tweens and teens.
For Rated R Features you must be 18 or older to purchase a single ticket for the feature. A parent or guardian, 21 or over, is required to accompany and remain in the feature with any underage individuals.
Why is plane rated R?
Violence & Scariness
Scenes with violence and blood, death, and peril, including a plane crash, kidnapping, and torture.
The word s--- can appear in a PG film, but only in a limited amount. Repeated use of the word b---- is acceptable in PG-13 movies.
General / Age rating issues at 18
18 rated films, videos and downloads can contain very strong material which is only suitable for adults. This can include very strong language, horror, and violence.
C-movies are associated with cable or made for TV movies produced cheaply or with lower production values than B movies. Example: Sci-Fi Pictures such as Super Shark, Mega Shark, Supergator and more. Z-movies are films made with almost no budget and often unheard of by the mainstream public.
G — General Audiences.
All Ages Admitted. A G-rated motion picture contains nothing in theme, language, nudity, sex, violence or other matters that, in the view of the Rating Board, would offend parents whose younger children view the motion picture.
Also, a heads' up: Even though this movie isn't intended for kids young enough to really still want to believe in Santa, just in case: Phoebe Cates' character gives a memorable speech about how she found out that St. Nick wasn't real. There is also a lot of salty language; much more profanity than you may remember.
The 12A requires an adult to accompany any child under 12 seeing a 12A film at the cinema. This is enforced by cinema staff and a cinema may lose its license if adult accompaniment is not enforced for children under 12 admitted to a 12A film.
Founded by Holly Tarquini in 2014, the F-Rating is used like a Fair trade stamp to give film lovers an easily identifiable label so they can choose films that fairly represent women on screen and behind the camera. The F-Rating is applied to all films which are directed by women and/or written by women.
Emotion definitely comes into play when assigning a movie an “F” Cinemascore. Anger, frustration, sadness, disappointment; these are the emotions that undoubtedly govern such a grade.
MPAA has five rating categories
The new ratings system began with four categories: G (general audiences), M (mature audiences, changed in 1969 to PG, parental guidance suggested), R (restricted, no children under 17 allowed without parents or adult guardians), and X (no one under 17 admitted).
What is rated C?
The battery C Rating is the measurement of current in which a battery is charged and discharged at. The capacity of a battery is generally rated and labelled at the 1C Rate (1C current), this means a fully charged battery with a capacity of 10Ah should be able to provide 10 Amps for one hour.

What is this? R is merely the second extreme rating for television, whereas TV-MA is the most extreme. TV-MA is worse than R because it contains both R and NC-17-rated material. R is OK for viewers under 17 as long as they're accompanied by an adult, but TV-MA is never appropriate for viewers under 18.

Not surprisingly, Squid Game is rated TV-MA, meaning for mature audiences only. Yet, kids all over the world have caught on, and they're now playing Squid Game versions of their one-time harmless childhood games on the playground.
Parents need to know that the level of violence is very intense in Squid Game. Characters are systematically tortured and killed for the sadistic pleasure of a game master. Adults have sex, and there are threats of sexual violence: Women are grabbed by the hair and beaten.
For 15 and up.

What does rated U mean on Amazon Prime?
Maturity Ratings combine miniTV content into levels, with recommended audience age groups. Age Rating. Appropriateness. U. Videos suitable for all ages.
'B' ratings indicate that material default risk is present, but a limited margin of safety remains. Financial commitments are currently being met; however, capacity for continued payment is vulnerable to deterioration in the business and economic environment.
Children under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian over the age of 21 for R-rated movies. I.D. is required for proof of age. Children under 6 years of age are not permitted into R-rated features at all.
SPEED RATING Z
While it nearly always means a high performance tire for high-performing sports cars, “Z” may actually appear in the middle of a tire's size information. When it does, it represents either a maximum speed of more than 149 mph (240 kph) or 186 mph (300 kph).
The R rating means that children under 17 years are not admitted to the theater without a parent. Movies may get an R rating for different reasons. This rating is given for nudity, profanity, or violence. Nudity, depending on the context, may be harmless.
